Izumi Enn Works started as an off track project by contemporary artist, Arisa Chinen. The main concept of this project is to create "Itokake String Art" works that "you'd like to gaze at all day, everyday".

What's Itokake String Art?

So what's Itokake String Art?

Itokake simply means "hooking thread" in Japanese. By hooking threads around nails in a particular order, geometric patterns are created. This technique is often called String Art and has experienced its heights during the 1970's in the United States, when many string art kits were sold and works hung on the walls of amateur enthusiasts .

Today, many artists, including myself, make works that emerge the mathematic and art aspects, making Itokake String Art .

糸かけストリング・アートは釘に糸を一定の順番で引っ掛け幾何学模様などを描く作品のことです。７０年代アメリカで流行した、この手法をベースに、現在も多くのアーティストが数学的、芸術的要素を織り交ぜて作品を作っています。
